Week 7

One more week is on the way out. I am not in a hurry to leave this place, but I worry not to leave anything and to carry home everything we are receiving for bettering our teaching and our comprehension of ourselves, of our students, and all people living around us even virtually. We don't forget what we had the last week. Certainly they are in your Delicious. I didn't visit mine very often, so when I tried to go there yesterday I forgot my username and I wasn't able to enter my Delicious I am sure I haven't lost anything.

I am still on the trail, picking the sweet fruit of the different universities of the United States: how to produce interactive lectures, how to use PP effectively. Those two topics don't go by themselves. They remind others we learned the past weeks: types of learners, divisions of the brains, all of these to tell us we should know our students to offer them the kind of instruction their personality requires. We also learn that we are the main actors in the show. We can have the best materials ,but effectiveness and efficiency depend on our personality and competence.

While looking back at the past, we cannot help thinking about the future. Tomorrow, I will have to think of the final project. What will it be? the 8th of March is a little far away. How is this presentation going to be ? Where am I going to find the materials to prepare it? Fortunately Iam in this class where I'll use the experience of my fellows and my mentors.

  1. Dear Roland.
How nice it was to read your comment this Friday cool morning!
Thank you. I hope I have time the following three days to do all I want to do in this wonderful online course.
Meeting people like you has been a gift of life!
Like you, I am also an elderly English teacher, but always wanting to be "in tune" with the times.
I have two nice kids who are already 30 (the married lady) and 24 (an "almost" electrician engineer)
    Cheers!

  3. Dear Roland,

I liked your descriptive writing. Are you a poet!

In some universities, some students major in "Science, technology and society". Technology advancement can no longer be separated from society. We are all affected by technological advances even if we are now aware of it. Schools should not lag behind, otherwise, our learners cannot meet the 21st century challenges.

I wish you the very best.

  4. Dear Roland,

This week I had some serious computer and I thought I was not able to upload my PPT. What a nervous breakdown I was having. I consider it as my life lesson. I guess we need some problems to overcome to grow up.

I am a member of the old folks in this course. Being old is not a bad thing to me. I bet you and Nora feel the same way. I have a wonderful daughter and two cute grandsons.

We have three more weeks to go. Let's encourage each other to go through this course.
    Sincerely,
    Kazumi

  5. Dear Kazumi,

Let's keep up. Problems and difficulties strengthen people. Let's take advantage from them. You have my support.

    Best regards
